IN LOVING MEMORY OF

MAXIMUS

2008 – APRIL 2026

“Not all heroes wear capes. Ours had a lion's mane, murder mittens, and two little brothers who thought he hung the moon — and he absolutely did.”

THE LEGEND OF MAX

Maximus came from the water. During the Mississippi floods, a kitten who refused to panic was carried to safety — and ended up in Florida, in a pet-store cage, wearing a name somebody else picked: Mr. Boots. At six months old he was found there by the household he would spend seventeen years running. The name didn't survive the ride home. Maximus did.

From the moment he arrived, Max was simply the boss. Not in an aggressive way — in the way that large, quiet, deeply confident creatures establish order. He was 17 pounds of gentle authority. Every room he walked into became his. Every lap he chose to sit in was honored.

Max was there before Arthur. Before Maurice. Before the 305 became what it is. He was there from the beginning, and he held it all together. He watched two chaotic younger brothers join the household and accepted them with the patience of someone who has seen too much to be bothered.

He loved in his own way — not with theatrics, but with presence. With warmth. With that particular Maine Coon chirp that felt like a personal greeting just for you.

HIS TIMELINE

Born

Somewhere in Mississippi, a legend begins.

2008

Mississippi Flood Rescue

Rescued from the Mississippi floods as a young kitten and brought to Florida — where Joe found him at six months old in a pet-store cage tagged Mr. Boots. The name didn't survive the ride home: he came through the door as Maximus. Joins his brother Benjamin, who'd arrived a month earlier.

2018

2019

A tabby chaos agent joins the crew. Max is unimpressed but secretly grateful.

2018–2026

The Golden Years

The belly rule softens. Short ten-minute visits on a lap — sometimes falling asleep mid-purr — before the heat moved him along. Zoomies till the end. Still flipping Maurice on his back at 17.

HIS PAW. HIS MARK.

This paw print is Maximus. Real, physical proof that he was here — that he padded across this earth and left something behind. It's in our logo. It's on this page. It's on every piece of content we make. Because Max lives in everything the 305 creates.

Pressed April 2026. Kept forever.

BENJAMIN

Before Arthur. Before Maurice. Before Max — there was Benjamin. First through the door, first on every lap, first legend of the house. Max carried his loss quietly for eight years. Now they're together again, wherever legends go.
